ABSTRACT

In the 2000s especially after 9/11, British Asian literature garnered much attention in Britain as it ‘reveals the hidden worlds that shine in the darkness’ (Manzoor, 2006). There was a tendency to deny or even abhor the traditions and culture of Asia, which were the roots of works published until then. Gradually, a compromise was forged with English culture, and as the new millennium began, Asian culture ceased to be considered inferior or second class.
