ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the background of built upon a data, information, knowledge, and wisdom (DIKW) and the challenges that it poses to the big data network. It focuses on the form that most big data takes in enterprises, such as the mathematical model, statistical inferences, machine learning, and decision-making techniques. The network big data in the chapter discusses the two case studies. Case study one is about flood information management in the state of Kelantan, Malaysia and case study two is about the demand and the skills qualifications of the labor market in Malaysia. The method of analysis for these two case studies will involve statistical inferences and knowledge-based reasoning in network big data prediction. The process involved is also referred to as the engine and consists of a statistical inference approach and knowledge-based reasoning methodology, while the output parameters are the performance parameters and are the objectives of this study, that is, the DIKW smart retrieval.
