ABSTRACT

Just a few short years ago, Clevedon School was in crisis, with an external review revealing significant concerns about the quality of teaching, school leadership, and school–community relationships. Today the school is firmly embarked on its Visible Learning journey. Both teachers and leaders strive to achieve excellence in their daily work. They have constructive learning relationships, plan collaboratively, and use well-designed systems and processes to track the effectiveness of their teaching.

At our team meetings, our team leader encourages us to discuss what has been working well in each of our classes. We share assessment results and lessons that have been effective. I enjoy sharing any strategies that have helped my students to become visible learners, such as using exemplars and rubrics or how I am sharing assessment data with students and how they are setting goals from this. I feel comfortable sharing this with my team, as I know that they all see themselves as learners and it’s going to help all of our students to become more successful learners.
