ABSTRACT

From Pedagogy as a loci of an ethics of an encounter by Gunilla Dahlberg (2003):

It is now time to move from outlining some ethical approaches in general terms, to examining how they might form the basis for pedagogical practice. Our intention is to show what the idea of teaching and learning as loci of ethical practice, and of particular ethical practices, might mean in reality. We begin by applying ethics to two familiar topics: evaluation and the relation between education and care. But we shall devote most attention to the ethics of an encounter and its relevance to pedagogical thought and practice in the preschool (and the school).
