ABSTRACT
(p. 223) We often hear substantial numbers of citizens urge the State to set prices for merchandise due to the unfortunate reality they perceive under the capitalist system which protects injustice, cheating and the concealment of defects in merchandise. Such urging, done in the belief that pricing will be in the interest of the consumer, reveals ignorance of the Islamic legal rulings.
