ABSTRACT
Now we zero in on a type of animal more like us. That is, the primates in a general sense and the apes in a more specific sense. These animals have evolved to be better and better at life in the trees. This is a three-dimensional world where stereoscopic vision and a keen sense of balance are highly important. The existing apes are highlighted in this chapter in order to show that more than one type of culture could be successful.
