Management of tree diseases in natural forests and plantations is extremely difficult and in some cases practically impossible. This is very unlike to disease management in plantations where many choices exist for disease prevention. The major practicable methods for forest-disease management are silvicultural practices aimed at avoiding disease losses and using genetically disease-resistant selections of trees.
