ABSTRACT
This chapter is about privatisation and industrial policy: what do the recent privatisation processes mean, from the standpoint of industrial policy and strategy? This will be analysed using the specific case of France. In the case of the recent privatisations in France, to analyse the situation it is necessary to look first at the opposite nationalisation processes which took place in the early 1980s.
