ABSTRACT
This chapter presents largely statistical information about the operation of probation supervision in the countries covered by the study. It considers what offenders are eligible for probation, the duration of probation orders and levels and trends in the use of probation orders. The final section discusses the sorts of standard and additional conditions which are attached to probation orders, and the arrangements whereby courts can revoke the orders when offenders fail to comply with conditions.
