ABSTRACT

This chapter is adapted from the author’s previous publication “A Guide to the ‘BOXTIME’ Charter Party” published by LLP in 1990, with indications of likely amendments to be considered by BIMCO in the near future. BIMCO suggest adding “connecting and disconnecting” before “monitoring” in line 83. Any documentation relating to the Vessel that may be required to permit the Vessel to trade within the limits as indicated in Box 22, including, but not limited to, certificates of financial responsibility for oil pollution, valid international tonnage certificate, Suez and Panama tonnage certificates, valid certificate of registry and certificates relating to the strength and/or serviceability of the Vessel’s gear. The "international tonnage certificate" is issued by the government of the country where the vessel is registered and certifies the tonnages of the vessel.
