Last week we were dealing with Equilibrium of Production when the ultimate supplies of the factors of production are given – the static state of J.B. Clark and others. I want now to remove this assumption of rigidity of factor supplies and examine the wider conditions of equilibrium resulting. That is to say, I want to pass from the examination of J.B. Clark’s static state to the famous stationary state of Marshall and the classics.
