ABSTRACT

Many different skills are required to bring addicts back to a normal life. The skills of a doctor, social worker, psychologist, and lawyer may be required in a single subject. In this chapter the unique contributions of other professions and training programs for helping addicts are examined. It is important for the physician who treats addicts to learn what other trained persons can accomplish and to reach some general conclusions as to what can be appropriately accomplished.
