ABSTRACT

A prerequisite in multigoal-seeking systems is that they must have memory to store and retrieve information. Memory helps multigoal-seeking systems to increase their efficiency when producing outcomes related to various goals. A final property of multi-goal-seeking systems is that they must have a way to prioritize their goals in a hierarchy. Another goal-seeking property of Toyota Production System (TPS) is the manner by which it accomplishes the goal of efficiency. The sequences of behavior that drive TPS to meet its conforming goals of efficiency are problem solving. The type of institutional economic (IE) that makes up the identity of TPS is largely dependent on the number of people who can use it. If the identity of TPS is contemporary IE, like most views on Lean manufacturing, only the elite can be expected to apply TPS. The identity of TPS closely resembles the era of scientific management.
