ABSTRACT

Since the introduction of the printing press, books have been one of the major channels through which scholarly insight has been conveyed to practitioners outside the academy. Indeed, almost every professor of management secretly hopes that someday a book bearing his or her name will grace the tables of professionals not simply within the academy, but also within offices in organizations. In the search to answer questions regarding the transfer of knowledge, therefore, it seemed appropriate to interview an editor-publisher. Jossey-Bass has been one of the publishing houses prominent in the organizationacademy interface. In the following interview, Lynn Luckow shares his perspectives on the circumstances which lead to effective penetration between academe and practice.
