ABSTRACT

It was time for our quilting group to gather around the table under the big old tree in the garden, next to the cemetery. The group consisted of ladies from Ubuntuville, most of them from the squatter camp next to the township. We loved being together in the garden. It was so peaceful on a late Saturday afternoon. The children could play and run around while their mothers were busy quilting. Joba, the gardener, kept an eye on them and was always ready for a game of soccer!
