ABSTRACT
This chapter looks at the growth of an Executive Agencies Programme in the Caribbean island state of Jamaica. It was written on the basis of field work conducted in Jamaica in 2000 and events will undoubtedly have progressed since then. At that stage, only four agencies had been established, but visits and interviews were conducted in all these agencies and various central government bodies and parent departments.
