ABSTRACT

There are those who claim to be lucky, those who say they are unlucky, and those who say they don't believe in luck. Almost everyone has something to say about luck, and few subjects receive more comment by persons having less correct information. In spite of all the mystique and confusion surrounding this word, it is nevertheless possible to take a rational view of it. Since luck is a concept associated with probability, this is a good time and place to discuss a rational approach.
