ABSTRACT
By the end of this chapter, we hope that you will:
understand, and be in a position to assess, the central ideas and concerns of twentieth-century ‘liberation theology’, in Latin America and elsewhere
understand what is meant by ‘contextual theology’ and ‘postcolonial theology’, and why they are important
understand how these twentieth-century theologies draw on, develop or challenge some aspects of nineteenth-century thought.
