ABSTRACT
As the representative of China, the shield tunneling technology of Shanghai has developed rapidly. After the completion of the subway line 1 and 2, the first rectangle-cross-section tunnel in China and Shanghai Waitan sightseeing tunnel are now under construction, which represents the new tunnel construction level of Shanghai and China. In this paper, the latest situation which consists technical difficulties of Shanghai shield tunneling is introduced taking the two tunnels as the actual background.
