ABSTRACT

Goal 10 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (Agenda) aims to reduce inequalities within and among countries. The nature of these inequalities is developed by the targets assigned to it, which show a very broad understanding of them, especially when compared to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Existing differences in the world and among people are not always something that should be levelled. They can be enriching, inspirational and creative (e.g., many cultural differences), and sometimes they are almost inviolable – related to the nature of the environment of human life and people themselves. The Agenda in relation to the MDGs contains an expanded understanding of inequality; it considers more aspects of inequality, i.e., not only economic, but also social, legal or environmental.
