In this chapter, the author explores her experience of consulting with three groups using video conferencing platforms. These studies include: consulting with a global group of tertiary students on task and process; coaching a group of female academic leaders in Saudi Arabia; and facilitating reflective inquiry with a team of therapists in Australia. The author looks at themes, patterns, similarities and/or differences across the scenarios. She considers how technology affects the task, the interplay of physical and online places, and the impact of these on the way group members and the group-as-a-whole are internalised and worked with. The author aims to develop a deeper understanding of the dynamics that come into being when using video conferencing for group consultation and how disruptions impact the creation and/or finding of psychic space.
