ABSTRACT
The subject of reliability of product and its performance have come very much to the forefront in industry since 1970s. Although reliability is an integral part of the total quality program of a company or corporation, the reliability field is so broad that it can provide a field of specialization for the individual and is often serviced by a reliability department or division. Probably the field of reliability began to emerge as a discipline with the advent of the air and space age. But the need for reliability is no less important in the automotive, pharmaceutical, and foods industries.
