ABSTRACT
Our outline of the development of moral judgement in the child and adolescent has been in terms of four broad stages. We have seen, however, that these stages, far from being periods of development left behind, remain as levels of judgement. Moreover, individuals develop at by no means the same rate, and their judgements, inevitably influenced by the key variable factors, also vary from one area to another.
