ABSTRACT

CoJ:BiB was an 18-month-long FPP shooter game oriented on breath-taking scenarios and cutting-edge graphics technology to provide amazing quality and level of realism during the whole game time. This article demonstrates various rendering techniques used in CoJ:BiB game powered by ChromeEngine 4. We present the advanced lighting and shadowing techniques adopted to complex, open-space virtual environments. We go through the post-processing effects, like screen-space ambient occlusion (SSAO), motion-blur, tone mapping, and edge anti-aliasing used for improving the final image quality. We also show the rendering methods of natural phenomena effects, like photo-realistic looking sky and clouds, water rendering, rain effect, volumetric for and light shafts.
