ABSTRACT
Repealers recognised the impossibility of making any progress during the Disraelian years, and the elaboration of their organisation reflects their efforts to remain battleworthy under adverse conditions. This is, therefore, an appropriate point at which to pause and consider the methods employed, and the nature of their appeal as the movement diversified for survival.
