ABSTRACT
Chapter 4 explores the politics of political science (PPS) through an auto-ethnographic narrative. It constitutes the epistemologically hot moment of this book, where the brokenness of objectivity is finally fully acknowledged, and the author undoes “fortress writing.” The text deals with the myriad ways the multiplicity and mobility of the power-knowledge linkage overcome the conceptual straitjackets that scholars impose on them: after all, the nation-state, family structures, and the individual are, along with academic disciplines, all merged in social life. In closing the chapter, an experience of abuse is mobilized to unfold a meditation on the politics of knowledge that embodies theory, where the body itself now becomes the platform for (disciplinary) self-reflection.
