The selection of Barguna as a suitable study area to investigate gendered health impacts of disasters is explained in Chapter 2. This chapter focuses on the vulnerability of the district, describing several major problems in the health sector along with the poor socio-economic conditions. The methodology and methods of data collection are also elaborated in this chapter. This explains all of the steps of data collection and analysis and the challenges faced in conducting fieldwork in the remote district of Barguna. How these challenges were faced and the consequent limitations of the research are also discussed in this chapter. A map of the Barguna district is presented in this chapter.
