ABSTRACT

Chapter 2 outlines my research process when studying Improbasen, covering the basic principles of ethnography and trailing research, the research foci, how the fieldwork was carried out, and decisions about presentations of the results. The chapter describes how participants were recruited, my shifting roles as researcher in the field, and how these roles interacted with participants in and around Improbasen. Finally, ethical and epistemological considerations are dicussed, particularly related to doing research involving children.
