ABSTRACT

This chapter makes the case for responsible management education (RME) in Africa. The RME narrative will be explored from various perspectives: 1) RME as an imperative to restore the legitimacy of business schools and ensure they play a vital role as key change agents in the advancement of an inclusive and sustainable global economy; 2) The role of the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education; and 3) RME as an organizational change catalyst, equipping managers serving in organizations with the skills, competencies, and general knowledge to manage successfully their organizations. The chapter tackles these issues systematically, and provides practical examples.
