ABSTRACT
Abstract This paper is seeking to demonstrate how advanced polymer matrix composite materials developed for high-performance military aircraft can offer major advantages for retrofitting of existing civil engineering structures through external bonding of thin carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) sheets.
