ABSTRACT

Description: Revasc is a recombinant analogue of the anticoagulant hirudin, found in the saliva of the leech Hirudo medicinalis. It is similar to the natural molecule, but the tyrosine residue at position 63 lacks a sulphate group. Revasc is produced by recombinant DNA technology in modified yeast cells. The product is presented in a lyophilized form to be reconstituted using the solvent provided before subcutaneous administration.
