ABSTRACT
The concept of pollution is not always correctly understood. Pollution connotes damage to the environment. That is to say, a pollutant has to come into contact with a target and be present in sufficient quantities to cause damage. If a potential pollutant does not reach an environmental target or does so only in an excessively diluted form, it will cause neither damage nor pollution.
