ABSTRACT

Hope is defined as clients’ anticipation of positive change (expectancy) and confidence in their ability to bring about the change (self-efficacy). Client hope contributes significantly to therapeutic outcomes. Given that many clients enter therapy demoralized and fatigued by their struggles, SBT seeks to re-moralize clients by focusing on their resiliency and resources without denying the pain and frustration of their struggles.
