ABSTRACT

In this chapter we consider the specific case of scattering by coated conducting bodies of revolution (BOR). An exact formulation of this problem has been discussed in Ref. [7], where the required unknowns are the electric current on the inner conductor and equivalent electric and magnetic currents a t the interface between the various layers making up the coating. Thus for an Nlayer coating there are 2N + 1 vector unknowns for an exact solution of the problem. For large bodies with multiple layers the number of unknowns can become significant, limiting the size of the object that may be considered.
