ABSTRACT

A clear view of the cadastral domain on which the 3D cadastral research should focus is needed to streamline the 3D cadastre discussion. In Sections 2.3 and 2.4 the types of cadastral recordings that have a 3D component are described. In this description a distinction has been drawn between cadastral recordings according to private law (Section 2.3) and cadastral recordings according to public law (Section 2.4). We have tried to give a general, non-country-specific overview. This was not always possible, because existing cadastral recordings are a consequence of legal systems, which are country specific. Where it was not possible to explain the cadastral recordings in general because of differences between legal systems, we used the Netherlands as our main example. This chapter ends with conclusions.
