ABSTRACT

After the divorce, and after resuming residence back in Denmark with Karen, Osa returned to Cambridge. She acquired a master’s degree in art therapy, an effective use of her artistic knowledge and talent. Some time later, I was a member of the Council of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences for three years. This entailed trips to Cambridge for meetings. On one such trip, I had the happy idea of inquiring about Osa-and inviting her out to dinner. She later came to Chicago to work for a children’s bureau in art therapy. Osa and I had several dates, which led to a great idea: I proposed to her. Happily, she accepted, and we were married on August 16, 1986.

Our daughters came for the ceremony, as did Osa’s sons, William and Andy. Karen was at that time working in London.
