This Section of the book is not intended as a complete guide to freshwater aquaculture or investment in commercial aquaculture, but provides a broad overview. A commercial venture into aquaculture deals with the same basic principles, and even some of the same species as small-scale operations. The design of a pond or a dam for commercial production must be different in large-scale enterprises for ease of maintenance and harvesting.
