ABSTRACT

An educational therapist’s role includes many different kinds of modeling and guiding in domains beyond the academic. Even in our second year together, our Organic Curriculum still diverged unpredictably. Nora was now becoming aware of her personal appearance—an unfamiliar realm requiring new thinking and decision-making vital to the next phase of her life. After high school graduation she would be dealing with college, considering independent living, seeking new friends, and interviewing for jobs. She was beginning to be—and needed to be— aware of how she presented herself.
