ABSTRACT
In a certain village there was a married peasant and with them lived his old mother. The son and his bride didn't like the old woman and they often cursed and scolded her. Once on Christ's very day they came away from liturgy and sat down at the table to break the fast. The son got angry with his mother for some reason and said, "I would rather see a serpent at the table than you!"
