ABSTRACT

In this session, facilitators continue to help participants to explore links between how dementia affects them, how they feel and how they cope. Many people living with dementia find that they cope best by learning to use words like “dementia” or “Alzheimer’s disease” openly. However, others cope by avoiding them. For almost everyone, using these terms is often emotional, especially at first.
