ABSTRACT

Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are extensively studied for antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties for the application in the medical, pharmacology, pharmaceutical, cosmeceuticals, textile, food storage, and environmental areas. New areas of application are being explored to utilize the AgNPs to leverage on the antimicrobial property. This chapter discusses mainly on the green route of synthesis of AgNPs. Globally, the biological synthesis methods are focused by the researchers on using polysaccharides, plant materials, and microorganism which adheres to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Many emerging scientific reports on various sources are being used to synthesize the AgNPs, and some are reported in this chapter.
