ABSTRACT
This paper looks at the effects of scheduling on an underground hoist system. AweSim® was used to model the existing system and then a simple scheduling methodology applied to the model. The results of the simulation show that even though the system was running at near capacity, improvements in delivery of loads was possible. By incorporating a simple animation into the model, potential areas for improvement could readily be identified.
