ABSTRACT

Organization Development (OD) is an established socio-technical method with a long history of field application in the private and public sectors of Western economies, dating back to the early fifties and the work of Kurt Lewin. Though a substantive literature exists on OD interventions in private and public enterprises, as well as in the field of public administration, little work has been documented regarding OD projects in international, multicultural organizations in general and in the United Nations (UN) system in particular. Practically no publication exists reporting OD work in UN organizations based on a Gestalt oriented frame of reference.29
