ABSTRACT
Assemblage refers to a dynamic constellation of ideas or strategies that relate to a common theme or interest group. This chapter examines the assemblage of mobilities undertaken by women in the UK historically and in the present, with particular attention to strategies which have enriched their participation and enabled empowerment, notably mobilising smart collective approaches to travel in order to make and maintain connections, and to maximise opportunities and affordances.
