ABSTRACT
I know I really have no right to ask, but I must. I must ask you to trust me here. Go along with me, even though the connections, at first, won’t be clear, even though I slip from autobiography to linguistics, from the history of the Western language movement to empirical research to a short brush with Aristotle. Trust me-after the winding journey, I promise we’ll end up in the classroom.
