ABSTRACT

Promoting the idea of “sustainable development” from economic prosperity by exploiting natural resources to achieve maximum utility in the global competitive landscape has hidden the consequential impact upon the ecology. Since many scientists and leading experts consider the right to food to mean “food security,” it is essential to highlight the issues regarding the concept of “rights.” As a result of this “silent tsunami,” international organizations and individual countries have embarked on an aggressive food security crusade as the only option to make food affordable to all. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a form of insurance undertaken by corporate entities to compensate for losses or damage for which their industries are responsible. It varies according to the damage caused. It may be a supportive hand to maintain the ecological balance of the community, as big businesses are first to disrupt the environment.
