ABSTRACT
Spatial statistics is a large area with two main branches. In one branch, analyses are focused on locations at which certain events occur, for example, locations of trees of a given species. In the other branch, analyses are focused on quantities measured at specific locations such as concentrations of a soil pollutant measured at many point locations in a given area, or counts of stomach cancers in each of the regions that partition a state.
