ABSTRACT

The paper refers to an example of both an innovative built heritage conservation project and a management model, thus it could be considered as an example of change. It is an ongoing project and it is interesting to highlight how the conservation project and the management issue have been thought to be part of a unique process. The project has been implemented in the framework of Monza and Brianza Cultural District and it is included in the European project CHANGES.

The paper describes the process and proposes reflections on achieved results; the aims are to pinpoint criticalities and strengthens and to create an evaluation system for the management activities.

The paper is mainly focused on the model applied for the formulation of the design process. The case study is interesting as it has been possible to involve the actors in the evaluation process, creating a learning laboratory.
