Chapter 1 introduces the reader to this new discipline of sport cyberpsychology. Key terms related to sport cyberpsychology are identified and defined. Brief histories of sport psychology and cyberpsychology are provided, as well as some key developments within these disciplines of sport psychology and cyberpsychology that have led to sport cyberpsychology being proposed as a new, worthy area of theoretical and practical psychological study.
