ABSTRACT
THE previous chapters have largely concentrated on the masculine aspects of the society with constant reference to the various implications of marriage and polygamy. The present one is intended as a supplement to these, drawing attention to the status of women in the society, and introducing a topic which is discussed more fully in Chapter Nine where the marriage ceremony itself is described.
